Dear Parents/Guardians,

1.       Storm and Unexpected Closure Days: While we will remain open on storm and other school closure days, the only times the Centre will close, is when an unexpected incident occurs (e.g., fire, flood); a severe storm; an exclusion period due to illness; or, a government mandated closure. In addition, we will close if we experience extended hours of power loss (i.e., 2 or more hours). However, if we lose power from 3:00 P.M. on, your child will be permitted to finish out the day with us (i.e., 5:30 P.M.). In all cases of delayed openings or closure, you will either receive a call notifying you that we will be closing early, or it will be announced on our website under Parent Memos (i.e., please see Delayed Openings and Storm Closure Days) as well as on the Fox Radio and Cancellation List.

2.      Centre Holiday Party on December 11, 2020: For those parents/guardians who are not familiar, each year we throw a Holiday Centre Party where all parents/guardians, grandparents, etc. are invited to attend. Sadly, this year due to COVID-19 Regulations, only the children and employees are permitted to attend. Nonetheless, the party will still take place, and all are highly encouraged to come in their best Christmas Sweater.

3.      Holiday Hours: Just a reminder we are closed on December 24, Christmas Eve at noon (pick-up 11:30-a.m.-12:00 p.m.), December 25, Christmas Day, December 28, in lieu of Boxing Day, December 31, New Year’s Eve at noon (pick-up 11:30-a.m.-12:00 p.m.), and January 1, New Year’s Day.

4.      Fees: Just a reminder that all fees are to be paid in full regardless of holidays (see section 6.3 Statutory and Other Holidays). illness, vacation, and brief periods of closure, occurring up to 2 weeks in duration (e.g., extended hours of power loss; severe storms; exclusion periods due to illness; government mandated closures, etc.). In addition, as this year, the first payment in January (i.e., January 1, 2020) falls on a closure day, we are asking parents/guardians to try to have their payment in on December 31, 2020. However, payments that are sent on January 1 will be received as per usual. Only payments sent after January 1 will incur late charges (i.e., $10/day).

5.      Attendance:

a. Morning Preschool: Just a reminder that childcare services are not provided on all school closure days (e.g., December 21, 2020-January 1, 2021). However, you will not be expected to pay the regular fees for these days. Therefore, your next bi-weekly invoice after December 4, will not be due until January 1.

b. After-School: Just a reminder if you do not require childcare (i.e., $13.00 extra/day) on school closure days, and provide adequate notice (i.e., 1 week for planned school closure days, including PD Days; 1 month for Christmas Break, March Break, and Summer Camps; by 9:00 a.m. for unplanned closure days), you will not be invoiced the additional $13.00/day.

As this is an unusual year, we have extended the deadline for notification to November 27, 2020. Therefore, please send your vacation days to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by November 27th, so that you are not invoiced the additional $13/day for days your child will not be attending over the holidays.

c. Infant, Junior, Senior, and Preschool: Typically, over the holidays, our numbers are significantly reduced. To enhance the quality of the program for the children in attendance, we generally combine children in an age-appropriate manner (i.e., 2’s with 3’s or 3’s with 4’s). This year, due to Covid-19 Regulations, we can only create new groupings a week at a time. Therefore, planning purposes, it would be exceptionally helpful if you could indicate with an “X” if your child will NOT be attending any of the following days over the holidays and return it in your child’s communication bag.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
